Gift Aid Boost Your Donation
Gift Aid is reclaimed by the charity from the tax you pay for the current tax year. Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer.
I want to Gift Aid my donation and any donations I make in the future or have made in the past 4 years to Aid For Mankind. I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year, it is my responsibility to pay any difference.

Every donation is a form of good
Islam recognises different kinds of giving. Tap a card to learn what each one means.
Zakat زكاة
A fixed 2.5% of savings, given once a year by every eligible Muslim. One of the Five Pillars of Islam.
- Who pays it: Muslims whose savings and assets exceed the Nisab threshold for one lunar year.
- How much: 2.5% of qualifying wealth - not income, but what's left over and saved.
- Where it goes: Restricted to the 8 categories named in the Qur'an (9:60) - the poor, the needy, and other specified groups.
- Good to know: Zakat can't be used to cover admin or running costs - it must reach eligible recipients directly.
Sadaqah صدقة
Any voluntary act of charity, given freely - any amount, any time, no minimum required.
- Who gives it: Anyone, at any time - there's no threshold or fixed rate.
- How much: Entirely up to you. Even the smallest gift counts as Sadaqah.
- Where it goes: Flexible - can support any charitable cause or person in need.
- Good to know: Ongoing Sadaqah (Sadaqah Jariyah) - like funding a water well or sponsoring an orphan - keeps rewarding the giver long after it's given.
Lillah للّٰه
Voluntary giving with no fixed amount, often used to fund essential running costs Zakat cannot cover.
- Who gives it: Anyone wanting to give purely for Allah's sake, without restriction on recipient.
- How much: No fixed percentage - entirely voluntary, like Sadaqah.
- Where it goes: Often directed to institutions - mosques, schools, and charities - including operational and admin costs.
- Good to know: Because Zakat funds are restricted, Lillah donations are what keep essential charity operations running.
